Sweet and sour Pot Roast

12 small white potatoes -- peeled
3 pounds beef roast
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 can tomato sauce - (15 oz)
1/4 cup brown sugar - (packed)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce - (to 3 tbsp)
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt

Place potatoes in slow cooker. Brown roast on all sides in hot oil. Place meat in cooker with drippings. Combine all other ingredients and pour over meat and potatoes. Cook on HIGH for 5 to 6 hours or until meat is tender.
